Alexandro Patiño Pulgarín

A Living Legacy of Colombian Coffe

In the La Floresta neighborhood, sheltered by the coffee-growing mountains, lies Finca El Recreo, home to Alexandro Patiño Pulgarín, a coffee grower who embodies the essence of a tradition that has endured for over 60 years.

On his land, at 1,640 meters above sea level, 7,000 trees of the Castillo and Suprema varieties grow with dedication. Here, coffee is cultivated with care, interspersed with crops such as cassava and plantains, in a perfect balance between diversity and sustainability.

The process each bean undergoes is artisanal and full of care: depulping, washing, and slowly drying in the sun on a drying patio, preserving the quality and flavor that only time and tradition can offer.

But beyond the methods and the landscape, what makes this farm special is the story of its people. Alexandro is the heir to a coffee-growing family that has known how to preserve the legacy from generation to generation. Each harvest not only carries the aroma of the finest coffee but also the living memory of his ancestors, who instilled in him a love for the land and a commitment to a culture that is a national pride.

At El Recreo, coffee is not only grown; history, family, and the future are cultivated as well.
