¿WHY NATURAL TATAMA?
The “Tatama National Natural Park” is a protected national park of Colombia that sits exactly in the heart of central coffee growing region in the estate of Risaralda, which is also known as “Coffee cultural landscape” declared by UNESCO in 2011. The people from this region have a culture of entrepreneurship, courage, enthusiasm and a lot of kindness.
The Tatama National Park encompasses more than 50.000 hectares of subtropical rainforest and Paramo habitat and is of a great proud for the people from Risaralda.
The Natural process: Natural process in Colombia started 10 years ago, producers were shy and fearful to elaborate this type of coffees in the past due to the climate conditions did not enable the drying properly. However, owadays there is more access to training, information and drying equipment and techniques which allows farmers to produce good natural processed coffees. We love Colombian washed coffee, but we have found in the natural processing other way to get a good body, more fruitiness character and greater diversity of red fruits.
